In Between WorldsA Poem by KATHY SUE SILLSA disease slowly robs a lady of her memory.Torture, anger, fear, gripping her mind, flowing through her veins. She's tangled in a web of despair of what's to come. Aizheimer eats at her brain, leaving nothing but the heart pumping blood through a body with a dying mind.
She sits wondering how long she has before her lucid mind fades completely. Anger as sharp as glass slices through her heart. Memories of the past invades her thoughts. Soon all memories will be evaporated from her life.
The present she will hold each second to her heart. Soaking in every moment that her mind doesn't decieve her. The past is gone, but not forgotten yet. She closes her eyes and let's her mind go down memory lane. She's feeling freer than she's felt in ages The future is bleak and unwanted.
She refuses to let the disease run her life. Life will move ahead and she plans to live it to the fullest. When her memories do betray her, she prays the life in between worlds will be gentle.
