The First Time I Saw You

The First Time I Saw You

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

FIRST CRUSH AND NOT BEING NOTICED!

"

The first time I saw you

my heart melted,

my knees went weak.

I couldn't breath.

I couldn't speak.

All I could do was stare.

The first time I saw you

you headed in my direction.

I began to sweat,

until you walked on by

to your special someone.

I realized

The first time I saw you

you didn't see me.

'The First Time I Saw You'
KATHY SUE SILLS,
This was reminiscent of how a young man or women might feel upon noticing a love interest. I remember those days when we teenagers were nervous and not necessarily confidant in ourselves socially. The times of imagining how it would be just to get a smile or a conversation with that special someone seemed so exciting. How often though as your poem says in the end, 'you didn't see me.'
I liked your poem.
Blessings,
Kathy

Thank you!
So sweet and full of lovely emotions. You laid eyes on your beloved , you shared your deep stirrings. Awesome.

You are welcome.
Short and sweet. Hope you saw them again? Or just a fleeting memory of fantasy? I guess it sets up as the beginning of a relationship. I like it when a poem makes me wonder....

Thank you!
Want to sigh
As the memories
Of high school
Float by.

Seeing her
In the arms
Of him.

As my heart crushed
Into a thousand pieces
That lunch period.

Wondering
If I will ever
Have someone special.

Your welcome, Kathy.
Aww... sometimes, we all get caged around the leaf of infatuation so, sometimes, across the arms of having "Crush" ... but with time, and with age ... wisdom brings us what`s best for our heart. Nice imagery!

I have experienced this too much in life, but it is nice to read it from someone elses point of view. It made me laugh in a good way.
