Poetic Names Whisper Words

Poetic Names Whisper Words

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

Describing each type of poem!

"

Poetic names whisper words in stylish fashion
were ink wanders along paths of thoughts.
       Muses' design rhetorical verses,
and each poem defines a unique name.

       Limerick sings in lyrical tune
as laughter mingles with a methodic line,
and nonsense makes sense speak in phrases.

Free Verse dances on no rhyme scheme.
Stanzas cascade in brilliant length to no end.
A poet's ink takes on a carefree imagination

Sonnet express epics in rhythm and rhyme.
     Imagery dangles in fourteen sentences,
     singing an Italian sonetto.
Shakespear hums along as the words beat
     to a love song.

Haiku tells a short poesy while dreaming
     upon picturesque seasons.
Three lines stare in awe as tranquility
      breathes in the magical scenery.

     Alliteration articulates in repetition.
     Prosody kisses initial vowel sounds
     while syllables are enhanced,
     and words become beautiful.

Poetic names whisper words in stylish fashion
were ink wanders upon paths of thoughts.
     Muses' design rhetorical verses,
and each poem defines a unique name.

I liked the way you described poetry. Poetry can be everything and nothing. I do believe words hold great power. Thank you dear Kathy for sharing your amazing words and thoughts.

You are welcome dear poet.
I think you've described each in adaquate and interesting detail. In the future, I wish to touch on each in order to branch out and explore. I tried writing a sonnet but had trouble. I'll eventually try again. Thanks for writing this. 😊

You are welcome! thanks for your kind review!
Love it love it love it! My favorite paragraph though is:

Limerick sings in lyrical tune
as laughter mingles with a methodic line,
and nonsense makes sense speak in phrases.

It's clever and somewhat intriguing! 10/10

Radical! Awesome write! Really hits the high points. Of course, one can't hope to visit every type of poem in one piece. It's a vast universe.

What a delightful homage to poetry! I love the line 'nonsense makes sense speak in phrases.' There are many good lines here, and I enjoyed them all.
