  There might be broken hearts,

  People crying,

  And families being lost,

  But at least we are still alive.

  At least brain eating

  Zombies haven't taken

  Over the world.

  At least aliens aren't abducting

  Children. 

  Just look on the bright side.

  None of us are dead.

Definitely not bad, I've seen far worse than this. Hmm... now that you said it's bad, I'm trying to pick out something to work on...

You made a zombie allusion. I'd like it if you expounded on something a little less mainstream. Why not... Aztecs? Aztecs totally aren't mainstream.

Anyway, I thought this was good, and I like the slowly-decreasing-number-of-lines style you tend to employ. Keep up the good work.
