ReunionA Poem by imadethisupwithnoforethoughtMeditations over Canadian ClubShe imagined in me all the things I may have given her Head spun with the ghosts of children and white fences Her mind skipped along an internal diary of men half what she deserved And for a moment, she replaced them with me, I could see it in her eyes And there was hope, I saw that spring in her I smiled my empty wise smile And she saw what I was inside A good man once broken so long ago by a lovely young girl Grown strong, yet empty inside And we parted once again
