Imagine

Imagine

A Poem by JuneBug78

Imagine...

Emotional abuse,
It leaves a different kind of scar.
It can tear a heart to pieces.
It can sear a burning hole in your soul and leave you feeling worthless.
It can drop your self-esteem to a status of non-existence.
You may not feel physical pain.
You may not have trouble hiding your internal agony.
You may appear strong, resilient, hopeful, and lively.

Imagine...

Living with emotional abuse,
Sorting through the negative desperate to find a positive.
Trying to believe you CAN do something right,
You perilously search for a relief, a way out of the adverseness.
Hiding your discomfort, your hurt, your desire to become better,
You pretend you are happy, putting up a well-acted front because you are afraid of being judged, or that others may assume the nonsense of lies that has been built up and has deprived you of living.

Imagine...

You can break down that wall brick by brick.
Feel tranquility, peace, happiness, and calm.

Imagine...

You are intelligent,
You are kind,
You are caring,
You are creative,
You are extraordinary,
You are worthy,
You are deserving,

You are loved...
