I miss you Great Grandmother

I miss you Great Grandmother

A Poem by Tyrae'

Came to Louisiana yesterday,

In Louisiana now.

Leaving Louisiana Monday,

I won't be coming back for a while.

Now that Jenerette Momo's gone

There are no more celebrations of her rapidly increasing age

She was 96

When she passed away

Seems like it was only

Last Thursday

When she was telling me to come,

Sit down,

and listen to her ever joyous

Preachings of the Lord

She is not here physically,

But I know,

That she's somewhere

Up above,

Watching us,

Her beautiful family.
