Shades of Gray

Shades of Gray

A Poem by Lena
"

One Black, One White, WOW!

"

I always thought life was black and white

One was either wrong or right

Then you came into my life, changing my thoughts and ways

Now I can’t believe I live my life in various shades of Gray

A physical appreciation was the onset of our attraction

The hypnotic draw of your eyes, the dazzle of your smile

And when you spoke to me, the tenor of your voice drove me wild

Then you shared with me the essence of your Soul,

Your ways of thoughts, your morals and your goals

Now all I can say is “WOW”, how beautiful is Gray

Trepidation next stepped in; our differences, our circumstance

All revealed reasons we should not pursue this romance

But like a Magnet pulls metal, and a Moth seeks out the flame

Our mutual attraction threaten to fog the logic of our brains

And now in-spite of wrong and right, I yearn for you both day and night

My world will never again be just black and white

All I seek now is to stay in this comforting cocoon of Gray

This once non-existing place of Gray, I do now fondly compare

Like the sky before the first breath of day

The hint of it’s hues as the Sun promises its colorful display

Like the Night’s on-set as the Sun’s palette recede

Leaving the horizon splashed with the pledge of her returning seed

Yes, like alpha and omega, I now compare this erotic display of Gray

Knowing still I must not Dare, fighting with-in myself in Prayer

But oh, the wonderment of our differences,

The marvel of the Soul we seem to share

How spectacular this brand new world,

This exotic place of Gray
