Johnny CashA Poem by ikssLyrics
There's a picture on the night stand Could it be some old flame or is it the picture that came in the frame a black-haired beauty a face with no name?
Your hair, it looks longer it covers your face It seems so much darker, against the pillow case A black-haired beauty a face with no name.
You were drinking beer between cigarettes And listening to Johnny Cash
There's a hole in the wall, there beside the bedroom door I wonder if hatred or love was at it's core and is there a scar to show from that war?
You told me you're waiting I wondered what for but I never asked, we just walked toward the door I looked for a scar to show from some war.
You were drinking beer between cigarettes And listening to Johnny Cash
I thought I heard you cry last night But I woke to find the pillow dry Only a wrinkle at the corner of your eye
You shift as you're sleeping I look at that mane I could drown in your hair, I could swim in your pain A black-haired beauty a face with no name.
