Newton's 3rd Law

Newton's 3rd Law

A Poem by Abigail Alliah
"

This poem is written for my best friend Kevin, whom I've shared priceless experiences and intimacies with. My poem does not carry a hopelessly romantic feel. The title connects everything.

"
I just reread your poem and laughed
at things that you'd erased.
"The good, the bad, the ugly"
changed from standard cut and paste.
The line became the moments
that we shared under the stars,
and I'm proud to think these memories
are truly, fully ours.

The feelings that you've put me through
are yours to blame; I surely do,
that I let my emotions spew.

You're wonderful in so many respects.
You're very simple, yet complex.
You've honored me with truest love
that only we know in context.

Kevin, you DO know my thoughts
and feelings 'cause you too have fought
to know and grow and realize things
you never pictured being taught.

We sure see how the luck unfolds
in our lives when we dare be bold
and don't leave slightest things untold.

My soul has little left to say
aside from thank you every day
for loving me your special way.

But now I have to say goodnight;
to stay awake has not been right,
but oh, the mirror paper's sight
convinced me there was time to write-
as you persuaded me that night.

What I mean to say is this:
I never dreamed our greatest kiss
revealing little as amiss.

Ok, so it sounds entirely romantic, but only parts of it actually are, and only talking about a romance that's passed.
