Knight in Shinning Amor

The poem is about a person who finds healing and wholeness through someone who picks up their broken pieces and glues them back together with love and acceptance.

The thought of death haunts him like a swirling storm.

His heart has been shattered into a million pieces, torn.

But from within the darkness comes an outstretched hand.

She picks up his fragments and glued them back together like an angel from a faraway land.

Only she knows what lies within his broken soul.

Because she was the only one he would be truthful with and the only person to ever make him feel whole.

She did not judge what he had to say or how he expressed himself.

She couldn’t care less about what others thought or the weird places he puts the Elf On The Shelf.

He thought she was divine, a gift sent by the holy heavens.

He praises and thanks God for crossing their paths and cherishes every second.

Without her, maybe he would’ve jumped that gusty summer night.

For no one would’ve known through the howling wind and flickering streetlight.

But she came into his life as abruptly as a bombshell.

She sprinkled sweet sugar on his life full of that alcohol smell.

Sometimes he thinks back to when his dad brought that awful scent into his existence.

It was intoxicating and something that followed him to any distance.

However, during the night, she brought him to the beach.

She showed him the seashells and the sound of crashing waves hidden in each.

She washed away that choking smell with the salt of the ocean.

She molded his heart with glimmering sand and her deep, loving devotion.

She raised his head by pointing to the gleaming moonlight and the twinkling stars.

She mended his mind with the sound of seagulls and her acoustic guitar.

He was mesmerized by her during that night spent at the harbor.

She was who he had always dreamed of, his knight in shining armor.
