Chapter Four

Eric was inside a room with a police officer. They were shouting. 

Maddy lay in Kyle's arms. Kyle and Maddy were nervous.

"Where the hell are they!" they heard a drunk voice

Kyle sighed and closed his eyes.

Maddy and kyle looked up. Their mom was glaring at them. A bottle of Vodka in her arm. She was in her bath robe.

"What the hell do you think your doing?" she asked, "You think that just 'cause your 17 and packed with muscle you can go beat up all the people you can?!" she shouted at kyle.

"And you! You little w***e! How dare you have a boyfriend!" Maddy had never told her mom she was dating Eric.

Kyle stood up

"DON'T CALL MADDY A W***E YOU B***H!" Kyle shouted. The look was back.

Their mom lifted her hand and slapped Kyle. Kyle stood motionless.

"Lets go" Their mom said, "Your fathers waiting in the car."

Kyle and Maddy sat the farthest they could from their mother. Maddy was crying on kyle's shoulder. Kyle had his arm around her. Maddy hated listening to her own silent sobs.

"Shut up" her mom said.

Maddy tried. She looked up and saw the hand print on Kyle's face. His eyes were watery. He was Maddy staring at him. He smiled, a weak smile.

He pulled Maddy close and whispered something in her ear.

"When i turn 18, I'm moving out. And I'm bringing you with me. I already have a court paper that allows me to." he said. He smiled and Maddy smiled back.

Once they got home their mom got right back to drinking. Only this time not in her room, but in the living room.

"Stupid good for nothing kids" she was whispering to herself

That was the last straw for Maddy

Maddy got up and walked over to her mom

"Kyle is the only one in this family that bring money! He puts the food on the table and keeps the house clean! What do you do? Drink all day and pass out at night! When he leaves your going to burn to the ground in debt and starve!" Maddy screamed in her face

Her moms eyes widened.

"How dare you!" her mom raised her hand, with the vodka bottle in it. Suddenly everything was in slow motion. Maddy's mom's hand was slowly coming towards her head with the bottle, and kyle was running towards them. Suddenly, the bottle hit Maddy's head. Nothing was slow anymore. Kyle pushed their mom back and grabbed Maddy in his arms. She was unconscious. Kyle turned and looked at him mom. Anger filling him

"She deserved it. But what a waste of good liquor" she said

"You deserve to burn in hell!" kyle shouted. He picked up Maddy and headed upstairs, their mom laughing in the background.

Author's Note

If I'm using "She" or "Her" then i randomly start using "I" or "My" im sorry. Im used to using "I" more that "She" so ignore that. I'll edit later :)

I think the mom is a total jerk! She has no life....I love Kyle and Maddy they are awesome. I love Kyle for what he is doing for his sister. POOR MADDY! Can't wait to read on. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. I know the mom's mean and all, but that takes a lot of nerve to yell at your mother like that. I understand that the mother needs to get into shape, but Kyle and Maddy took it a BIT far. But that's just my opnion. What teh heck do I know?
