Holiday Cheer

Waking up,

The smell of ginger bread cookies

Christmas pie, and many more foods

Under the tree, a million gifts

On everyones faces, a million smiles

So great to be with family. 

The ones who actually care.

The smell of a real pine tree.

Flows through the house

Its decorated, and beautiful lights all around it

We sing Karaoke and some other Christmas activity's

We laugh, we cry, all as a family.

We eat our Christmas dinner,

Talking about old times

And happy moments we share

The smell of delicious food all around us

Finally, we begin to open our gifts

We smile, and we thank.

We give and we smile

Everyone opening more and more

The smell of new rubber, and new cloths

Surrounds us all.

Everyone smiles and gives out hugs

We thank everyone for being here

For caring enough to give

On this Christmas Eve,

Its one in the morning 

And we finally decide to sleep

I close my eyes and pray

I pray to God to give us more years together

I pray for him to not bring Death upon my family

I pray that next year will be just as great

And i thank him for watching over everyone

And i wish him a Merry Christmas

As i slip away,

Into deep sleep.

This was a cute poem. It shows your softer side. I liked that. I don't celebrate holidays, but it does seem like a good season. I would pray as well...I do every night though. Thanks for sharing.
