the balcony
A Poem by
Igor G. Balatsky
from ‘Co-existence’
each
peaceful hour
of gracious summer
night
i go out
into the balcony
of the forty-forth floor
for one more lucky
strike
a gaze on the
moon’s milky breast
a song of the
lonesome cricket
a smile of the
bright morning star
and the wail of
a newborn
