The Woman I Love

The Woman I Love

A Poem by Igor G. Balatsky
"

from ‘The Island of Slumbers’

"

The woman

I’m enamored of

is distant

high and inconceivable

in unattainability of hers

she is unlike herself

when loves me

passionately-gently

forgetting herself

 absolutely -

and every time

I fall in love with her

again

I realize

the most hopeless thing:

about my amour

I'm only dreaming

perhaps the highest ideal woman cannot be possessed. or maybe not even exist. thus we can only hold her in our dreams and not in our arms. accurately expresses foreclosed gratification. great piece.

Oh, the pain of awakening to such a reality. May you have sweet dreams, my friend!

The continuing dream of many .. What a wonderful dream, to be lost in .. .. So passionate She is . . forgetting herself, so completely .. just to make Love to you ..

I love this .. Jasmine
