Epitaph to a Cheerful Man

Epitaph to a Cheerful Man

A Poem by Igor G. Balatsky
"

From 'The Placebo Effect'

"

He was desperately

Enamored of Life

Though his love was so

Unrequited

He had languished

For a hundred of years

Yet not having gained

Reciprocity

Story of my life, though I do find myself more tender, than cheerful :P

And yet he was cheerful.

I wonder what kind of people ever got love in return of true love...whether from a person or life itself...
I was running through all the poems I read this morning when I came across this one, and halted.
Beautiful :-)

So sad to have lived this life .. never being loved equally in return ....

I love all your words .. Jasmine

Sad tale, so much given but little in return. A plaintive piece.. yet a pocketful of grand words included.

went 100 years unrequited...he never gave up hope 'til his dying day...very sad.
