Between SilencesA Poem by IgniteToWriteAre you brave enough to speak between silences?
Im not going to say you're right. Im not going to fall for the worlds slipping off your tongue.
Im not going to live in this lie you call life. Im not going to play this game of dreams. Convincing me that someday I'll stop manning this corner store desk and find myself. Find myself? Who says I've not yet been found? Who says Ive not yet spread my wings to fly? Who says I have to listen to your lies? Who says I can't speak between the silences? Haha, not me. You see unlike you, I get up when I collapse. Unlike you, Ive already started running across the field of cages that once had me. Rocking me to sleep with their oh so sweet lies. A broken record playing that same song that I just can't get enough of. I won't allow this anymore, so get ready because Im about to soar. Soar above the haters, soar above the followers, soar above the lies, soar above the liars, soar above the people that tell me I can't speak between the silences. Im sorry, but right now I'm about to sing, with no one holding me back because your chains will be holding you so tight, all you will be able to do is watch me run on to the landing strip, and fly.
