tranceA Poem by Sarah RamsbottomSometimes I lose myself ... into a trance I fall and I think until the voices I hear get tangled. Then someone sneaks into my vision.. and the trance breaks. How is it I travel into the future and past at the sametime? I can hear those last words, spoken like daggers. Yet I see the day we began as one. Somehow you forgot to mention that fear would rule your heart. And somehow I forgot to read between the lines. (Somehow these ghosts of w****s past gained admittance to your dreams, and I exercised them out) Afternoons of lust, turned into a maybe we should talk. If I could take the attention. If I could be that person once more. I think we'd be looking through different glasses. I take you at a word, and take it for the truth. I live it out, and return back here.. to the land of my trance. Walking in my wasteland of dreams and forgotten moments. I wonder when the lines all blurred? Twist it , bend it and work the fade. Its all how you look at it I guess. I stand at the front door, hand resting on the handle. I stare into the darkness.. and I wonder. Who will I meet on the other side? Words that fill with laughter, a look into my future? Or words that cut like razor, a fall into my past? I part the deep dark waters and wade into my life.. and pray to hell this life wont swallow me whole and drag me out to sea. © 2012 Sarah RamsbottomReviews
