A Poem by Sarah Ramsbottom

Bitter wind

It blows in and fades back out

Winters beginning its long stay

Its grey and black

ink blots the sky

and i look out onto the woods as they sway

Its too cold in my heart

and freezing in my hands

Id bathe in warmth

but I was shaken from my bed

by these thoughts that keep me numbing

by a mind that keeps on racing

I cant find the words to describe me,

to invent me

While my world lays sleeping,

I am left here thinking

Directions and plans

footsteps and small talk

Not in this early light

its me and this cold darkness

and this strange empty room
