CoffeeA Story by SashaA man observes the daily visitors of a local coffee shop, finding romance within.Every morning before work, George Jenkins would sit in the same coffee shop, at the same time, with the same people, and order the same thing. He got to know a certain three of the other daily visitors particularly well. Although he never interacted with them, he observed their behaviors intensely. Their names were Maria, Leon, and Clarissa.
Maria was short and, as George would describe her, lumpy. She had dark blonde hair and hazel eyes. Maria would always order three blueberry muffins as her breakfast and gulp them down with a latte'. George always wondered why she didn't go for the fat free ones, (she could definately stand to lose weight) but thats what he liked about her; the fact that she was comfortable in her own body. George imagined that Maria, at the end of the day, would go back to her cozy apartment and stuff her face with some of those non-fat free blueberry muffins while curling up in her bed watching Hell's Kitchen.
Leon was Maria's finance'; it was obvious. Maria wore this huge rock on her finger and Leon was always holding her left hand, caressing it. Leon was tall, thin, and extraordinaryly handsome. Every morning he would order one fat-free muffin. George couldn't understand how Leon could be drawn to a girl like Maria, but he figured opposites must really attract. He often imagined Leon lying in bed with Maria, one hand on her ring, the other holding a fat-free blueberry muffin.
Clarissa was a tall, skinny woman with soft brown hair and brown eyes to match. She had no blemishes on her fair skin, and George would describe her as "flawless." She would order one cup of coffee; black. "A woman with such an beautiful name should not come off as such a Plain Jane," George thought. George imagined Clarissa living in a simple, white, two-story house by herself. He thought of her as too perfect for a husband. George liked to pretend she listened to the Blues, just like himself. He wanted to meet Clarissa, but he didn't want to ruin his perfect image of her. She was the woman of his dreams.
A woman was walking to the coffee shop across the street from her uptown apartment when suddenly she was hit by a speeding car. A man was speeding, trying to get to the same coffee shop to observe the woman before she left. The woman was lying on the road when the man got out of his car. He ran to the woman and held her close, realizing he had just killed the woman of his dreams.
