Time(Whose to Say)

Just lots of questions :)

Whose to say what dreams to keep?

  And what dreams to let go?

What really makes a worthy pursuit?

   Is it happiness, status, prestige?

When do hopes die?

   Is it when we no longer have the strength,

                        or do we just give up?

Did we fall out of our love of life,

       or lose faith in ourselves?

How and when did bitterness come in?

   How do you let go?

      When you could be so close without

                         ever knowing.

One more step and you could be where you always

             wanted, one more moment and there

                   could be a knock at the door, a letter

                       arriving, or a phone starting to ring.

You could meet someone new, or reunite with someone

          else if you just stayed one more minute.

What if you held on one more moment?

   Would you ever reach that place, or would you spend

          your life in the 'one more moments'?

Waiting for something that will never come.

  When has it been too long,

     and when is it really too late?

If you had an eternity, what would you do with it?

    Would your dreams be worth the 'one more moments,' the

             chances of disappointment. and the strain?

And if you ever let them go,

  Can lost dreams ever find their way back,

       or do they simply drift out to sea?

Whose to say what dreams to keep?

I think my brain just imploded! How many times in life we either just averted disaster by a split second, or missed connecting to our dreams by the very same split second? God only knows.

Haha, it gets to be too much to think about :D I based this off of the idea if you could do anything, or have anything, what would you really want? And it just led to a whole bunch of other questions!!!!

Realistically, each question can be the title/subject of an entire work. You could piggy back off this single writing with an entire series of connected works. Just sayin.
