Dearest Grandmother

Dearest Grandmother

A Poem by Ida
"

a farewell to my beloved Grandmother

"

One morning you flew to a land far away

And you left me without a chance to say;

I love you Grandmother and goodbye!

I know there was a reason why you should die

You have been my accomplish, my friend

But why should the angel after you send?

I must admit that now I clearer see

How much you really meant to me!

Sleep tight Grandmother and rest in peace

I always will love you…

I have recently lost my grandmother on 24th of Jan 2008 and this something I said to her as well but I will never say farewell as she will be with me as part of being.She was my Didu( grandma-my mom's mother ) and last year 5th Feb I lost my Amma( grandmother -dad's mother) lost both in the span of a year and both were very dear.Didu was small beautiful loving and yet strict.Amma was ahead of her times strong adventurous and had very strong views.Both had innate dignity and loved me inordinately. I have written about my maternal grandparents in a tribute to them called " They are there with me" want to share it with you.
