Dear you,

Dear you,

A Poem by LydiaWrites
"

A letter to a guy I hope will talk to me again. I wish I had the guts to.

"

Dear you,

I won't apologize again, or even send this poem,

But please don't remember me as me,
The awkward geek who asked you out for coffee at 2:00 AM,

Remember me as me, as the girl you barely know who made you a CD.

Maybe you never listened to it- Maybe it's at the bottom of a landfill,

Or catching dust bunnies on your desk.

But I can only hope you listened to at least one song.

I'm hoping it was “Wake” by The Antlers;

That was my favorite.

Don't ever let anyone tell you you deserve that.

Ever.

This isn't my best, but it's as honest and real as it gets. The italicized is from "Wake" by The Antlers, it is not my line.

ah love the Antlers… awesome band. And this poem is wonderful. So emotional and raw. Great job with it. Look forward to reading more of your work.
