Hero for a MomentA Poem by LydiaWritesI've always thought about smashing glass and doing this. So I made up a story about it. TW: Abuse.I was putting away cups after washing them, And suddenly I
took a simple white mug Against the counter. I destroyed something beautiful, something fragile. I closed the biggest shard around my palm And tucked it in my pocket. It stayed there till you riled me up next. I whipped it out and sputtered, “Fight me”. It was the first time I felt brave, almost Like I was in a superhero movie. But the good guy didn't win- she ended up with A swollen lip and a black eye. © 2012 LydiaWritesReviews
