A Poem by idontknowanymore

i exhaled,
you inhaled.
our first time alone together.
your beauty is shown so effortlessly,
you're dancing in your underwear.
my eyes opened,
your eyes shut.
the weather has gotten colder.
long gone has been our summer fun.
you're closer to me yet distant.
i stood,
you sat.
you stress out over little stuff.
relax,
it's all going to be okay.
i smiled,
you laughed.
it's spring again,
your hat collection has grown,
see? you're getting better, babe.
we danced,
last stop.
hey,
we made it.
your list is marked off.. what's next?
i breathed,
you stopped.
time has begun to stand still for me,
you're gone.
it seems like just last summer
you were dancing with me,
now it's a fog.
i sit here and write hoping that someday,
somehow,
you'll come back,
my feeling will come back.
but,
here i lay in our empty bed,
in our empty space,
watching the shadows slowly creep over me.
it's hard to not be selfish,
it's hard to let go.
i'm hoping that sooner rather than later
we can meet again and,
i can watch you dance at dusk dawn
to the rising sun.

i breathed,
you stopped.

This is beautiful and so so deep. You captured this feeling and put it into words so well, and I'm incredibly impressed.
