sitting, waiting. a lifeless face stares back at you. windows to the soul, shows the reflection of a husk not far from you. lingering, watching. eyes peering at you, giving you the most emotion you've felt in a while. shivering, suffering. you exhale at the sight of yourself. peering at your emotionless countenance in the mirror. inhaling, exhaling. you're over it, you're over you, you're done.
I love this one even more than the last I read!! I so wish this was my own poem... I feel the last three lines so deeply, and the stagnant, short lines give this poem a lot emphasis. The single words really hit on what you're supposed to be feeling, and make the poem itself travel slower, like breathing and waiting.
