windows.

windows.

A Poem by idontknowanymore

sitting,
waiting.
a lifeless face stares back at you.
windows to the soul,
shows the reflection of a husk not far from you.
lingering,
watching.
eyes peering at you,
giving you the most emotion you've felt in a while.
shivering,
suffering.
you exhale at the sight of yourself.
peering at your emotionless countenance in the mirror.
inhaling,
exhaling.
you're over it,
you're over you,
you're done.

I love this one even more than the last I read!! I so wish this was my own poem... I feel the last three lines so deeply, and the stagnant, short lines give this poem a lot emphasis. The single words really hit on what you're supposed to be feeling, and make the poem itself travel slower, like breathing and waiting.
