Letting go hurts

But not as much as holding on

To hold on you have to bleed again

You have to breathe and by now it burns

You have to go on with all the pain no one can fix

Because it’s only in your head

And listen to the voices that tell you to just let go

The voices only you hear

The ones that keep you up to second guess

Everything you ever said

Like a game of chess with only the king

Going around and around

Maybe some people care

But you know they can’t help

Maybe now you have a place to live

But you don’t have a place in this life

Everything that has happened has been out of your control

People say keep fighting

They don’t know the fight was done a long time ago

They don’t know you lost and all that’s left

Is waiting

Letting go hurts but you know he’ll stop you every time you try

He’s never going to know how many times he saved you

He’s never going to know

How many times you let go

there is no grammar in this it's free verse so grammar is difficult to do and it's not being published so it doesn't matter to me.
