Where Dreams Die

Where Dreams Die

A Poem by idiotproof--1
"

just something I did for fun during school

"

Where dreams die

Golden cities rise from nothing.

A world of your own creation,

Have you felt what it is to fly?

To truly touch the clouds?

Pools of water that shine like diamonds,

Skies colored to rainbows envy.

Whatever you have wanted,

This dream is your life.

Above everything and looking down.

It’s started seeping through.

Darkness crawls across the ground,

Long shadowy fingers tare the skies and rip your wings.

Have you ever felt like you were falling?

Both inside and out?

like everything about just let go?

Cries echo for something solid for support,

But hitting ground hurts.

Red fills everything and you see the hands finally rip your sky away.

Eyes open.

Dream dies.

Wrists are painted with red lace.

Water covers your face as you watch the stormy sky.

This nightmare is your reality.

Sinking slowly and breathing water,

Reaching for the sky you owned just seconds ago.

Going deeper your sky gets further.

Eyes close.

The dream begins again.

Wow, the imagery here is spot on, I mean its a little more dark than i was expecting, but this is great. I definitely love the word choice you chose and how you made the common style stand out because of your creative voice.

Very interesting piece.

I enjoyed it very much. I like how you really made me feel what it was like falling and falling. The way you describe your images make me see them vividly. Well done :)
