Through Glass

Through Glass

A Poem by idiotproof--1
"

small poem I wrote one day hope you like it.

"
Have you ever seen a soul through glass?
have you ever watched it die?
It's right in front of you screaming, crying.
It's breaking like the glass keeping you away.
when you reach out for it
it reaches out for you.
It's cold.
Something so fragile.
A single pane of glass keeps you separated.
Together
and alone.
Finally it's gone.
The glass is broken.
The soul is
broken.
A thousand pieces fall
a thousand days
a thousand months
a thousand memories
and you can't fix it.
You can't save it.
Tiny pieces cut into your skin,
 as you cradle whats left.
This poor lost soul.
Your veins cry ruby tears for the life
you could not save.
Cradling the pieces you cry
for the loss.
On the other side of the glass
a little girl stands over a broken mirror
where she saw her future
reaching out to her.

I'm not sure if this was intended or not, but I like that you're talking about the end, the loss, the sorrow and yet your piece looks like a tree almost. That is in interesting correlation even if it was not intended because trees are strong and sturdy even after they die. Because trees are the embodiment of life of nature, of cycles. (Sorry if I did take that too literally.) As for the actual piece I like that the message is so clear and beautifully written, I like the descriptions you chose and just how perfect this feels. Wonderful write.

I enjoyed your poem and its message and it has inspired this message to you.
The future is ever seen through broken glass, find the peaces you need and make of it what you can.
