Waking Sun

Waking Sun

A Poem by Isabel Brianne

Crumbling darkness lay wake to dawn
As the sun slowly woke from slumber
Rising from the clouds on which she slept

The reigning silence began to break
Earth's children chorusing good morning
A loud song to celebrate today

It eased the ache that plagued my thoughts
Ceasing all the woes of yesterday
My bowed head able to raise with grace

Now strong enough to make mountains quake
Though as gentle as a summer breeze
I vowed to continue life in peace

Author's Note

Isabel Brianne
I've always thought that nature had a way of recentering ourselves in a way nothing else can. There are a few snapshots in my memory that stand out but this is the most recent; are there any in particular that have stayed with you through the years?
