Judgment Calls

Judgment Calls

A Poem by Texas Identitycrisis

From high on a mountain
High on a hill
Up on a pedestal
There you are still

Tempting with tawdriness
Prickly strings of ignorance
Passing down judgment
Such a presumptuous air...

Should you be angry
Spewing your gloom?
Do rebellious taunts
Disregard all you do?

Invitations and parties
Daunted, ashen faces
Knife like words, spill
Poisoned inaccuracy

An assortment, my defenses
No match for the fences
My worn out weapon
Pen still in hand... brilliant!
