Life Of A Female GangsterA Story by idenityBlood. Guns. Gangs. Chicago. Death and best of all, love.Chapter One A whizzing sound flew past my head. I was scared, very scared. I couldn't find Mommy or Daddy anywhere. I had tears streaming down my face, and the grueling winds, whipping my small dark brown curls across my face, like a whip. It stung. All I knew was, two guys an older man and a teenager, was throwing my Uncle into the backseat. My Uncle, Jamie was screaming for the guys to let him go, to kill him and let 'little Maya' as he calls me, free. Free of this life. I was confused, I was only six years old, yet I couldn't decipher what he meant. What did he mean, let me become free? "Shut the hell up." The dark skinned guy barked, punching my Uncle in his rib-caged, repeatedly. I was crying even more now. "Shut, that lil' brat up bruh." The dark skinned guy said, pointing to me with a knife. My eyes widened, as the Teenager boy, came at me, grabbing me by my waist, and hoisting me on his shoulders. Let me go, I pleaded to myself. The boy, gave me a hard smack towards my cheek. It was my left or my right, maybe even both. All I know was my face was feeling numb... I didn't want to watch my Uncle get beat up anymore, or hear the violent screams, and shouts as a group of wildly reckless teens fill the dark alley. The moon was illuminatingon my tan features, giving me an eerily look, for a six-year old kid. I gulped in a breath, as the crowd dispersed, in front of me, revealing two black garbage bags. No. I thought to myself, it couldn't be, but it was... In one garbage bag, lay my beautiful mother, with a broken neck, eyes open wildly about, staring at something that appealed shockingly to her. She had a tattoo on her arm, that read B.M but, I never knew what the words meant, and I never thought to ask her. I felt today's lunch, which consisted of Chicken Mc-Nuggets and a Frosty, erupt from my mouth. I vomited, as I watched my Mother's body, being dumped on the ground. I had to turn away, but the boy holding me captive, forced my head, to look at my Mother's body. I was shaking frantically, and then I remembered my Uncle Jamie. I didn't notice, that he had stopped his struggles, but as I looked at him, he looked pale to his stomach. The dark skinned guy, dropped him, and my Uncle Jamie fell to his knees, in defeat. His mouth twisted into a grim line, as he looked at his baby sister, dead on the ground. "NO!!!!!!" He shouted to no-one in particular. After his five minute of panick attacks, and hoarse cries, with everyone silent, he glanced at me. "Lil, Maya, I love you boo..be safe for Uncle Jamie." He instructed me, his voice wavering and then his gaze turned cold, and before that, it was a sickening 'POP' of a gun. My Uncle Jamie was dead. He was shot right in front of my eyes... *Present* I woke up sweating from my dream. I turned my head, and my alarm clock read 4:35 a.m. That meant I still had thirty minutes of extra sleep before it really went off. I felt sick to my stomach. Day and day, again I had that same dream..over and over again. I held my sides, and tried to erase those surreal images from my brain, but it wasn't working. It was stuck in there, like glue..and there's no removal for it. I heaved a sigh, as I got up out from under my sticky damp covers. Curtsesy of my sweat, and bad dreams. I felt spooked now that I had that dream. I didn't even want to remember what my father's body looked like. Crumpled, and useless. I felt tears, welding up into my eyes. I needed to figure out who killed them, but I must focus on my future plans..of being a Journalist. I've always, had a talent for writing, I loved to read and write essays. Crazy, I know but writing helped me share my emotions, and I was just grateful for pen and paper. Nobody, knew about, how I saw my Uncle being killed right in front of my eyes, nor the pain I showed, because with that; I masked it. My own Auntie, doesn't even know what happened to her husband those years ago, Rumours have been etched across the whole SouthSide of Chicago, where I might add, is where we live. The stupid a*s rumours, ranged from a car accident, he jumped off a building, he drowned in Lake Michigan, and other ignorant stories. I paced towards the outside hallway, of our small two story Duplex, that we shared with another neighbor below. I quietly, opened the drawer to grab a towel. Maybe, a nice hot shower would help ease my nerves, but in the meantime..all I can do is forget now, no matter how hard it is. Thirty five minutes later, I was showered and dressed. I simply, through on a pair of tight dark blue skinny jeans, and a half belly top--that showed off my smooth tan belly. I had a sparkling belly ring, that was done by one of the neighbor's daughters. My Aunt, found out about two years ago, and whooped my behind so good, I almost called 'Cihld Abuse. Hotline.' She eventually got over it, and still lectures me today, for getting the piercing. I still didn't tell her, who did it for me though, she would probably have an Anerisum. I straightened my already, curly hair so that it fell into long even strands, just above my shoulders. My hair was a little short--but longer than most Black Girls, who are my age, at sixteen. I had perky C cup breasts, and a nice 'bubble butt' dudes, call it these days. I had curves in all the right places. What made me pretty, though on the outside, was my light brown eyes, that I inherited from my mother, who was mixed, with Mexican and Black. My daddy, was simply Black. I inherited, his shortness, at 5'5', but got his lean muscular build. I did only one sport, at the highschool I attended which was RiverDale High, and that was Track, for Varsity. I was a Junior. I plucked in some silver hooped earrings, to throw my outfit together, and matched it with a pair of Jordan's. I grabbed my car keys, from the counter, and told my Auntie, that I was leaving. She told me to have a good day, and I was on my way to School. Let me know what you think below!
