little john juggles

little john juggles

A Poem by ICS

Tapestry hung
up top of the wall
reflects just like wishful thinking
How'd you get so high?
Way up in the air
Flapping and taunting
daring with your flappy stare
flap flap flap
rhythmic bitter beckon
no other care
but to tear down
glare down
burning on the floor
sizzling for more
but you're out of yourself
so you stare in the mirror
with hopes to find yourself
who is more than shiny glass
pristine reflection has to pass
and recognition takes its place
like waves settle on your face
the water clears
away from mirrors
revealing smiles
when children approach an ice cream
truck
How lucky can we be?
To see the world through green
paper and coins
our sirloins
or vegetarian delights
written on papers
our reasons and rights
little john's in a cabin
he writes his words down
pen to page blabbing
he writes to the clowns
