Karma Always Calls

Karma Always Calls

A Poem by icelandicblue

She was a poison apple of a woman,
black star eyes and crimson lips.
Her beauty a facade,
a viper's nest of want.

So much waste was left in her wake.
A life built on the innocence of others
until the day that she met her match.
He came for her with open arms

and she ran into them without reserve
for she had always been the predator.
His shadow grew along with her alarm
until he pulled her down into the deeps.

And there she still lies like all the rest,
a mass of silken rags and tufts of hair
coiled around her earthen bones
but her soul....

well her soul is afire with
deeds that she will get
to relive from the other side
for an eternity.

Sucha turn of events told in a sinister voice of a poem! Great pathos and good read.

Thanks so much!
I agree dear Poet. karma will come to the all of us. Better to live a life leading with concern, kindness and love.
"And there she still lies like all the rest,
a mass of silken rags and tufts of hair
coiled around her earthen bones
but her soul...."
The above lines. Hard and true. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

As they say, no one gets out of life alive. Karma is patient I think. Thank you!

This superb write aside, karma works on the energy one puts out and is not governed by the deeds one commits, which is why it might seem to some the karma is not real. One can be judged by others a complete scoundrel but if he does not think himself so and goes about whistling while he works ... well, we see this all the time. Likewise one can devote her life to good works but spend most moments of thought judging, despairing, and raging and she seems to attract nothing to herself but suffering. It is philosophies and religious tenets based on societal control that tells us otherwise. The good news ... ego has a built in control mechanism called anger and it means the first lot I described have a short span on the top as their approach usually leads them to judge others has inferior and good works generally leads one to love. All about balance:) I go on ... it really was a wonderful write:)

You write with such a decisive hand here, words precise, meanings clear yet, put as delicately as the theme allows!

Karma awaits her moment - patient as ever,. But, when the time's right, she aims for the soul that has no heart. C'est la vie.. done, gone.

Please try when you can.. if only to relax or free thoughts, In the interim, take care of yourself.
The first stanza exudes violation of “the sacred feminine” with thoughts of a Black Widows seduction unto emotional death came to mind, soon followed by the end of her self-empowerment through female promiscuity by the second stanza. Three and four brought to mind the vision of a masculine anaconda slowly constricting a heart due to breaking her own cardinal rule of vulnerability. Lastly, “her soul is afire” wrapped it up for me where she delivered her own poison into her own soul, an insightful write for any gender regarding matters of the heart… beautiful.

Your Welcome
I can't say for sure I've ever seen Karma work, or at least not fast enough for me. I'm sure there is a life force for cause and effect though. Maybe in the rules of freewill, they forgot to mention that. Maybe even for a reason. :) Good poem.

I could take solace in thinking that some people will get theirs someday. Nice to see you again. I might put an apostrophe in viper's nest, but that's just me ... into the deeps has a serious creep factor ... nicely done.

I think it is fair to say that what goes around comes around. Sometimes we can think we have escaped our past, but that only leads to a false sense of security, making the drop even more of a surprise when it happens. And there is no point of return from that fall.
Beautifully expressed and wonderfully written piece.
