I really admire the progression in this poem. The descriptions in your first three stanzas paint a picture of the darkness in our world. Those lines implore the reader to contemplate the issues of our era. The aspect of this piece I admire most is the turn in the fourth stanza. Your image about the white light is transcendent and uplifting. Your lines make a bold statement that more violence won't bring the peace we crave.
Overall, this one reminds of the Martin Luther King Jr quote:
Darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
a good interpretation of our path through life surrounded by the darkness of our desires, when the day comes for the light to envelope you we see through the veil of deceit and enter nirvana of the spirit, its what i see in this remarkable poem, thank you Ice Lady :)

And I thank you Richard. We are, so often, what we do. Light does help us see the way.
Such a hard process, that's for sure, faith of light can help invade even the darkest corner but we have to accept it exists....poignantly beautiful xo
I just love your thoughts so eloquently expressed here. A poem which to me was about good beating evil, written with much power and insight. There is much of both within us and we are indeed in control, it is all in our hands, to harness the power of goodness within us and banish the evil...Yes, we have a choice.

It is the most ancient of struggle, good vs. bad. Thank you so much for your thoughts Divya.

You are welcome and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Can feel
The darkness
Moving ever closer
Toward me.
Like a moth
To a burning candle
On the table's edge.
Knowing
For there
To be light.
Sacrifices
Must be made
In human blood
To cleanse
This toxic.
Without them
Hope is
A four letter
With no meaning.
Except
As an archaic entry
In the dictionary.
