Fog and Bones

A Poem by icelandicblue
"

A Haiku

"
The smell of salt swirls
loneliness hangs in the fog
sand white like bleached bones.

You say a lot in this - I love to read between the lines and it could mean so many things. I enjoyed the images I saw in it. thank you.

like this style, the fog is so eerie can just see it creeping across the sand, makes me feel like a Haiku horror movie, would love that, thanks Ice Lady :)

That will put a shiver up your spine! Thank you Richard.
Ooooh somewhat eerie, and gets the message across -I love the fog as it gives me a feeling of peace. I am a night person so perhaps that is why.
Great job Ann at saying so much in this style of poetry!

It certainly does do that. Thanks so much Einstein.
Sand white like bleached bones.
Brilliant, I've never thought of it this way before but it makes perfect sense!

Thank you so much Ana. I am pleased you liked this one.
An expressive haiku that conveys images of you alone on a beach where you begin to feel lonliness as you walk along on the sand.

Thank you so much John. The beach can be a desolate place in the fog.
yes, yes, yes...it's haiku, and beautiful haiku...but....there is a human element hinted here.
the smell of love, but loneliness sits in the fog of the mind, because memory is a white space of bleached bones.

so nice, Anne.

I walk a fine line here with the personification of the fog, but poetic license and all that. I love.. read more
Funny, I always associate white sand and bones, after finding a body when I was a kid. That aside, well done Haiku

My husband found a body once too. Small strange world don't you think?
