"Poet oh poet," bleed your soul upon the parchment make me see reality through new eyes, sew golden threads throughout vivid imagery make me breathe in your plaintive hue and cry.
"Poet oh poet," enchant me with your verse create beauty from the unknown, the mundane, wrap me tight within your silken language stroke me with joy, stab me with pain.
"Poet oh poet," how I long to lose myself in your voice bestow upon me the mysteries of hidden worlds, so that I might find myself in places undiscovered where love is the answer and sweet wonders unfurl.
Well I felt renewed by this writing and when it came to write down why I run into difficulties and hear me out that doesn't happen to me very often. Had to stop and think and then of course it hit me. The descriptions here are great and I can sympathize with them and some even feel them but see, because of that the writing is very fluid and it makes you feel as if you understood but what is not written down is actually more than essential as in the end a Poet will be able to convey what seems invisible and then suddenly through his bridge building techniques make it visible for others just like Ice did here.
Thankyou

We at least try to make the intangible tangible. Thank you Rene.
and this is what the real poets do - like you - flaying the deep flesh of the human soul...tickling us till we pee, or giving a kidney punch - yup. Beautiful stuff here.

Hi Tammy! That means a lot coming from a writer of your caliber. Thank you.
very true words of a poet Artist
suffer with their work and are romantic
and can play with their words quite well
BRAVO!
"Poet oh poet," enchant me with your verse
create beauty from the unknown, the mundane,
wrap me tight within your silken language
stroke me with joy, stab me with pain.
Thank you for sharing I loved this
I hope you had a merry Christmas
and a blessed and safe happy new years!
I feel like I need to place this on my office wall, in my billfold, my journal, on my phone, and with a magnet, attached with care and honor to my fridge . . . all to remind myself, why writer's write and why I endeavor to do the same.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this finely crafted thought.

No . . . thank you for creating this and allowing us the honor of reading it.
I got a very uplifting, happy tone from this poem. It's really fun to read out loud! I think it's great because it can be taken ironically as well. The way you comment on poets suggest that this is there only function; their existence meagerly to serve their readers and not themselves. Not that you actually think that, but it can be interpreted as a happy, heartfelt, thankful poem to poetry and poets you adore, or it can be entirely satirical toward the world view of the poet's function.

Thank you. Like most things it's how you see and read them! Thanks again.
This is how I can best describe the effect of this poem upon myself, I feel like i'm on the titanic with my arms spread, soaking up the suns rays and the sights of nature with the words of this poem keeping me afloat, surrounding me with everything, from emotion to creativity. I find rush and adventure through this, I feel purpose and meaning. Icelandicblue oh Icelandicblue you inspire me.

That is one of the nicest comments I have ever received. Thank you.
Beautifully written ode to poetry, Blue. Good poetry does indeed "stroke me with joy, stab me with pain.' and we all owe poets like you a debt of gratitude for sharing their exceptional world views with the rest of us. Joyce
This was beautiful Icelandicblue. Longing this poet's touch, to know their words and feel their emotions shared with only you. I really enjoyed this today.
I know I commented on this one already. I don't know why it isn't showing up here...but I love this one. Its a perfect poem for poets all over the world. There's a universality of understanding to this one.

Well thank you for commenting again. It's always good to see you.
I do not accept any new friend requests unless we have read and commented on each others poetry. No exceptions. I have enough homework as it is. I expect reciprocity in our exchanges. Read my work and.. more..
