Anne Of The Celts

Anne Of The Celts

A Poem by icelandicblue

The Apocalypse came
and I didn't care.
I had too much to do
to go anywhere.

Four stinkin horsemen
that's all that you got?
I've got anger and sorrow
and words like buckshot.

Big deal with the 6's
and a couple of plagues
I've got unresolved s**t
and you've been too vague.

So get out of my way
giddy up out of town.
I've got my own problems
I won't be beat down.

You've got the book
with its plans all laid out,
but you forgot about me
all opposing, no doubt.

I've got fences to mend
and kids to control
and then maybe just maybe
I'll up and enroll.

But for now end of days
will just have to wait
I've already told Peter,
the guy at the gate.

So off your high horses
suck up your floods,
I've got things to do
and people to love.

Slink back down to hell
and tell them all there
Anne of the Celts
is on one of her tears.

Holy Apocalypse, this one woke me from my stupor, you do know how to throw down lady, ran the gauntlet in this sassy no holds barred, take no prisoners tirade...I thought the Italiano's were feisty, I bow to the Celt known as Queen Anne....whoa! Love it.

Anne of the celts is on a tear !
I grew up thinking of the four horsemen of
Notre Dame, One of them was Jim Crowley, a relative and
they were a terror..... There were the others Death, Starvation
and Pestilence---- You must really have studied those bad guys.
I am always pleased to read a rant...It is such a pleasure to read of
someone showering us with her true feelings.
Thank you..... Very enjoyable read.

Did you by chance once live in Japan? Strange question I know.

No. Almost everywhere you can mention, but not Japan.

what a great piece...i like the religious undertones mixed with the sarcasm...of "hey, i have a real life to deal with"

i think sometimes we push this religion/spiritual thing so much...like prayer will solve everything...
but really, the problems here on earth, even the ones which seem mundane...are actually most important.

this is one of my favorite, smartest pieces i have read here.

LOL! This one makes me laugh out loud. It is so good. I love it. I love everything about it. Women on a tear is a ferocious thing, indeed. Hell hath no fury like a woman on a tear! Very nice! This just earned a place in my favorites. Thank you, Lady Ice!

That's right... who has time for an Apocalypse? Though I smiled as I read this, there is a serious tone here too. So glad to read you again, Blue!

Thank you Rita...it's good to be read.
Well, this is like a hard-riding Western! Whip into place, sister!

I'm not sure what the reference to "Celts" is meant to imply.
