Within the clockwork mechanism of nature my gears turn, tired, worn, they grind in the hope that the master clockmaker might make my heart beat again
beyond the automaton of my being- locked away in a coal bin of my own making: sequenced, encoded and functional. A muted spark in this elaborate but simple form
craving the spectacular waterworks of emotion in limber and graceful movements, seeking the linchpin of humanity among crystals and springs that patiently await the return of my misplaced spirit.
Beautiful!
Brings to mind a shamanic wandering for their soul that has wandered or been splintered...
That is the beauty of such a piece like this, the reader can interpret how they see it because the metaphor is superbly unobvious and graceful, wonderful!

Sometimes all a reader can do is sigh and nod in sympathetic agreement. It goes beyond relating to it...it almost defines me for all intents and purposes. I can't stress how loudly this piece spoke to me. Wonderful writing my friend.

Always a pleasure my friend, and I'm sure you know the feeling is mutual.
You're such a fine writer each piece of your writing I have read
Has been and is strong and wrought with emotion
Reading this makes me think of growing older
Which we all do which definitely beats the alternative
Waiting for your spirit. that has been misplaced
What images it brings to myimd such a wonderful read

Thank you so much Jewel. Your comments are always appreciated.
Again Anne, to compare yourself with a clockwork meganism, is in my eyes truly brilliant... there lays so much within this, reminds me of the movie: Hugo, loved that one... :) yet you write with it as a metaphor of life, time, and getting older, and finally breathe out a last breath... I truly felt this one... there is a yearning for a better "time" litterally.... great work my master brain :)

No matter if our gears are tired and worn there is so much out there we have not yet embraced....life is so short and I find poetry, especially ones that inspire like this one is the key to peacefulness...my review no where in turn adds up to your review on my poem but your creation here is really beautiful and flows so wonderfully :) Thank you for sharing
Hopefully, the holiday season will bring your "misplaced spirit" back to life, Anne. Often life can make us feel like just a machine but a little Christmas spirit can go a long ways towards humanizing the automaton in us all. Your description of the inner mechanisms of a clock is very clever. I enjoyed reading your poem very much.

Clocks serve us well, so does the human spirit. Neither gets the credit deserved because, as long as everything is moving along fine, we hardly stop to think about it. When the clock stops ticking, we notice the silence. When youth passes us by and the spirit and body become broken, we all of a sudden want to turn back the hands of time. We are so predictable as human beings. It's always been this way and probably always will. Great job!

I do not accept any new friend requests unless we have read and commented on each others poetry. No exceptions. I have enough homework as it is. I expect reciprocity in our exchanges. Read my work and.. more..
