Within the clockwork mechanism of nature my gears turn, tired, worn, they grind in the hope that the master clockmaker might make my heart beat again
beyond the automaton of my being- locked away in a coal bin of my own making: sequenced, encoded and functional. A muted spark in this elaborate but simple form
craving the spectacular waterworks of emotion in limber and graceful movements, seeking the linchpin of humanity among crystals and springs that patiently await the return of my misplaced spirit.
Even a broken clock shows the correct time twice a day...All too often we overwind these clocks, the tensions builds up so much that they can not function properly, but are still correct twice a day. Perhaps just allowing them to rest, unwind, release all that is built up inside will allow them to tick and tock in that perfect rhythm once again. Time does heal all wounds they say...watching the clock doesn't help though in my opinion. Anne, this was wonderful, a poetic analogy of the inner workings of our internal movements. May you keep perfect time in...no time.

Thank you so much for your good wishes, the same to you. It is good to to see you back.
Wow, I'm at a loss of what to say here. You have totally left me speechless. This piece is simply beautiful.. You write so passionately and the flow is perfect.
I like the thought of a tired clock, its mechanism is skipping ticks and tocks here and there. An irregular rhythm holds onto life, because it knows there will be a time to reawaken soon. Very soon. I like where this piece took me, Blue. Things get hard, we get tired, we want to just stop. But we can't, so we wait it out. Nicely done. Angi~

Exactly...Thanks so much for your keen insight Angi. I appreciate your comment and feel it deeply.
Wow! This is an incredible piece. Your concept alone is both fresh and creative, but it pales in comparison to your execution. It's cerebral, while being cohesive and relatable. This is one for your classics section!

At times in life we can do nothing more then function...like our insides have become clock works. We long for the time when that spark of feeling and hope will return. No one wants to be in mechanical limbo forever. Fantastic poem Anne!!

Finding the way out of limbo, now that is the challenge. Thanks so much for your insight and comment.
This is such an elegantly crafted metaphor, and one that reaches me on many levels. The longing for a carefree feeling of times past; the patient hope , and the faith in that master clockmaker... yes.
This piece also, coincidentally, brings much nostalgia. My great uncle was - a master clockmaker. Many years ago (maybe 60 or 70) he made his sister (my grandmother) a simple mantle clock, which chimed the hours in her house until age made it necessary for her to move. I now have that clock; it no longer works. I display it anyway, wishing to hear its chime again, but knowing that it will never be the same... Thank you for sharing this, Blue.
