Sound Investment

Sound Investment

A Poem by icelandicblue

She needed to know physics

like a lawn needed flamingos.

With her cola-brown eyes,

and a beyond attractive countenance

the world was her playground,

she was a student of human nature

and the subliminal messages sent

were even better than the pheromones exuded.

The stares she received were never apathetic,

some so smitten they thought she might be a holograph,

or a painting by some long dead master.

With a knowing smile, the time to act was now,

her expiration date was a long way off

and in this moment she was one fiscally sound investment.

Whoa, wait a dang minute, isn't it a requirement of bad poetry, that it be bad?! Amazing what you did with those words Anne, it's good, it's damn good!

Anne, I think this turned out nicely. Your use of the required words was perfect and the story is a nice neat little package...nothing bad here either. I really like how you wrapped this around and brought it back again like a circular thought. Very nicely done. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks jack, same to you. She's not very sympathetic but all the words are in there.
