The government's closed
an unimaginable fact
next Ted Cruz will be reading
The Cat in the Hat

It's a big game of chicken
by overpaid sloths
democrat or republican
cut from the same cloth

A bevy of blowhards
a gaggle of goons
we've cast our poor votes
for a troupe of baboons

With extended vacations
and perks up the wazoo
it's no wonder DC's
now the national zoo

We're now at a standstill
a battle of wills
as they all stand around
up on capitol hill

Then there's the tea party
with a stick up their a*s
most of them had to be
last in their class

So stop dicking around
and get the job done
for now there are many
but soon there'll  be none

i agree with the statement of the problem; disagreement...but can not agree with the condemnation...forever the optimist...there are good people trying their best to represent...i can not abide how big our federal government has become...the glut is horrendous...when the EPA can run on 6.6% of its staff the example is blaring... the presidents job is to bring people together not divide by opinion and how much money we may or may not have...Obamacare repeal is worth fighting for...that has now been watered down to at least give citizens the same delay that was given by stroke of Obasma's pen (not legislation) to the very corporations that Obama, Ried, and Palosi have demonized from day one...why does the Democratic run Senate have a problem with that?
love your poem...the expression of frustration and anger are felt everywhere...on all sides :)

Ah Einstein, we find something to disagree upon. I come from Massachusetts where 97 % of the people have health care and we are not fiscally challenged because of it, our hospitals are not overburdened with people who use emergency rooms as their doctor's office and people with serious or pre-exisiting conditions are able to get coverage and care regardless of their income. I was more diplomatic in my poem spreading the blame but I do have my specific culprits, and I see the problem in the totally opposite way. Having said that a political poem must allow for differing views as should the political system. Thank you so much for your comment and for taking the time to say what you feel in your heart.
