Boundless

Boundless

A Poem by icelandicblue

For the Creative Bad Poetry Contest

"

She was a student of physics

hung up on holographic theories

held down by quantum gravity-

totally tied up with string theory

She was almost but not quite attractive

no slave to the subliminal ads of cosmetics

she dressed in cheaply made pink flamingo shirts

and light brown skinny jeans a size too big

Her only limitation was the fiscal black hole

she lived, commonly known as higher education.

Nothing but apathy for lesser beings, she had big plans

to paint the cosmos with her stellar intellect.

I just couldn't write something that didn't make sense. My brain wouldn't let me do it. Thanks again.. read more
Love what you did with the list, Blue! I bet a psychologist would have a field day reading what each person does with a list of random words... :)

It is a most interesting experiment. Like a Rorschach test comprised of words. Thanks so much.

This is awesome!! I was reading some of the comments below after I read this and this is so "Big Bang Theory", I can completely see this as a mix of the women like you stated, Penny, Amy and a little Bernadette sprinkled in. This was great on it's own, but completely enhanced by knowing where your mind was when you wrote it. I love that show and did a great job with the words given!!

It's wonderful how you fit all those words together into an elegant weave. I did this with my poem "Armageddon" using eight words. I have several college degrees, but all my intellect ever did for me was show me how little I know. Knowledge is expanding at such a rate that only a super being would be able to hold it all. Creativity combined with a non-violent emotional temperament is the real measure of intelligence. The Internet now helps me to find the knowledge that I need as the building blocks required by my creativity.

Brown skinny jeans and pink flamingo shirts? Hey, wait, I just saw a lady at the condominium pool wearing that outfit! LOL Not sure you are painting the cosmos with your stellar intellect, but it exists for sure...and this poem proves it. You did a great job with the words. Lydi**

I worked with the clay I was given. Thanks Lydi for your kind words.
The antecedents of William Macgonagall (not sure of the spelling) would be proud, Blue....he thought he was brilliant!!! Nicely concocted! P.

I...yes...made me smile. This kind of a challenge reminds me of something from Spinal Tap...'The more things change, the less things stay the same.' Thanx for posting...bobc
