Quiet Contemplation

Quiet Contemplation

A Poem by icelandicblue
"

Something light

"
Quiet contemplation
At the apex of the morn
Quiet immolation
Precedes the sun reborn

Ghostly mist swept away
To places up on high
As the sword of each new ray
Deftly slices through the sky

A cacophony of sound
Builds to a crescendo
And often I have found
It's time to close the window

Thanks BR, I appreciate it.
I can relate to this... Some days, you really just need to close the windows, pull the blinds and go back to sleep, no matter what the sun is saying.

This is well done in terms of form and flow, and the imagery is absolutely fantastic. I love the language; the "cacophony of sound" and "deftly slices"--you truly show a strong handle on the written word, and that leads the reader down a path of contemplation and connection. I feel connected to this one...

Thanks so much, glad you liked it.
"And once they listened, they heard nothing, for this was their desire"

Sometimes we need to hide out for a while, where noise is as vacant as our mind. Very nicely written Anne.

Thanks Jack,

Quiet sounds like heaven.
I love the quietude of this one, you did it, you wrote something other than the pain...it's an escape and half the battle to be able to just shut the world out sometimes. This one resonates with my early morning cuppa Anne, outstanding read!

I am a very light sleeper and the birds start much too early.
sometimes we do just have to close that window...

rather than sacrifice ourselves to another day of pain....

there is a feeling of being overwhelmed by life in this piece...or maybe it's just me and how i am feeling this particular day...

really nicely phrased piece, surprised there are no review yet...

this builds to a crescendo...as the contemplation reaches a point that we are buried in the cacophony of thoughts...and it just gets too much..

we need to block everything out...and start over.

Life is most definitely overwhelming and if I had a window to close I would most certainly do so. I .. read more
how many times have we been THERE....When you feel as if you are the only person in the whole world and BANG..the world interrupts...BRILLIANT!

I often take a morning stroll by the sea, and if i am out early enough I feel as if I am the creator HIMSELF, with only the sea birds for company

Morning at the sea is the most soothing medicine of all. Thanks Doc.
