Luminous Tears Of Heaven

Luminous Tears Of Heaven

A Poem by icelandicblue
"

Perseid Meteor Showers

"
It was always August
and deep into the night
when I would carry you all down
to a chaise on the lawn.

Sleepily you would turn on your sides
with tousled hair and rosy cheeks
and I would whisper for you
to open your eyes, open them wide.

There were wonders awaiting
from Perseus himself,
Cassiopeia smiling brightly at his
dazzling display across the constellations.

Sleep slowly scattered
and the sky showered us
with perfect tears of light
that cut across the heavens.

Slumber gave way to reverence.
Serenaded by the sound of crickets
and our own hushed breathing
as we waited for the next extraordinary exhibit.

There under the umbrella of stars
we small specks of dust glowed
beneath the magical canopy
of a most resplendent universe

The title is exquisite and a fitting beginning for words of this celestial display! The universe is indeed resplendent. I feel the warmth of your words and can almost see them without looking into the skies to behold the beauty of these perfect tears of the Heavens.

What lovely memories you have woven into this splendid poem. I could visualize you and your children looking up at the "umbrella of stars" and being drawn together by its beauty. Very, very nice!

Thank you so much Joyce.
What a beautiful magical piece of art with lovely imagery.

"Tears of light, serenaded by the sound of crickets, umbrella of stars" love the essence of these special moments that are captured and treasured always. Even in our darkest moments, Anne, there is always light. Don't ever lose hope!

HiYa Red,

Thanks so much. Sometimes it's hard to find the positive but I am trying!
You took a piece of heaven and put it within a tangible place. There's something fantastic about laying beneath the stars. It is then...that we truly see how small we are. God shows his magnificent through so many unique and mysterious ways...the universe is only the starting point for it all...it continues down to the smallest piece of matter...all of it has a purpose.

That is so very true, we are all made of stardust.
As you gaze upon the magic that is the night sky, memories fall like shooting stars granting your wishes with spectacles of shimmering light. There is light, even in the darkest skies, if you open your eyes and look.

Anne, this had a happy feel to it and a calming, comforting tone. Very nice my friend.

It was a very happy time Jack, thank you.
This is charming and beguiling and should make astronomers of all who read it!...but for me, you`re preaching to the converted, Blue...though, this time around we had cloud here so couldn`t see the shower. Beautiful. P.

Thanks so much Pete, sorry about the clouds.
Your words are as warm, engaging and bright as the stars themselves, such lovely memories to reminisce and keep within your heart. Those magical moments are meant to be cherished, you've written them for posterity, gorgeous blue!

Thank you so much Robbie for enjoying the tranquility of this piece.
What a wonderful piece in terms of memory and the "tangible". But you also manage to bring in the mystery of the cosmos as well. As an entire picture, this one really has it all...the innocence of childhood, the idea of memories, the night sky and the infinite mystery of the ballad of meteors showering... Well done!
