when putrefied platitudes are placed
on plastic plates that have been
left out too long beneath the delusions
of an angry sun.

Empty and self motivated apologies.... what apt metaphors you've used. I've never put stock in "I'm sorry". I'm jaded I guess. Heard those words too many times from people who would go right back to the same bad behaviour. Yes occasionally we make mistakes and should take responsibility. But you get to a point where you believe people should think before they do. Excellent write blue!

Despite what one might think not all behavior should and can be forgiven. And even if forgiven it does not mean that one forgets. They are intertwined like a double helix, forgiveness and memory. I'm glad you liked this.

People are a;ways telling me I need to forgive to save my own sanity, there are certain things, people that just can't be forgiven in my eyes....I'll never forgive my father and a few others who have trampled my soul, so yes, I felt this one to my core.

I think forgiveness is a personal decision; and only the injured party can decide whether it is deserved or not. One size does not fit all.
