Lace Me In Lavender

Lace Me In Lavender

A Poem by icelandicblue

Lace me in scents of lavender,
its silken fragrance calms storms
raging against a serene serenade
in shades of faded violets.

Sing me a song of eternity captured in
a raindrop falling from the heavens,
my upturned face is anxious for
the caress of the first spring shower.

Let my eyes breathe colors pure,
and then saturate me in
the vivid hues that lie
along the borders of this rugged path.

Beneath this canopy of tranquility
petal soft sighs escape
while droplets of blood flow
onto hidden thorns.
Its crimson paled by
beauty's breath
keeps the madness
at bay.

this poem is tranquil...damn, there are just some on this site...you definitely being one of them, who can turn nature's beauty upside down and inside out with your stark images...breathless.

"raging against a serene serenade" my very favorite line in this one.

I crave tranquility yet she eludes me. Thanks jacob, I really like what you took away from the poem.

Thanks Marc! Your visits are always welcome.
very soft-spoken and eloquent.....I love the last stanza. It reminded me of my dogwoods that have recently been blooming all over my yard. The white petals with drops of crimson red. Your words are vivid

Thank you so much. It is nice to meet you.
This made me think of one of my all time favorite words "tempest".
It was this young girl I had to work with years ago..she was beautiful, with the name of Tempest, so entranced I was by her name I went home to research the definiton of it. The tempest storm...how can something so innocent and beautiful be compared to a storm? I was confused by why her mother would give her such a name. Well you sure gave the storm a vision of beauty...maybe this is what was missing from the picture perfect storm. The tempest fury in all of it's god-given glory. Heaven is beautiful when it cries.

Thanks R.L. Spring surely lifts our moods and puts a song in our hearts.
I used to not be able to sleep without lavender :) Such beautiful words, I could picture this well. Would sound good recorded I think. Very vivid, complex imagery, really makes the reader think to see if they missed any hidden meaning. Good work indeed :)
