Leave Me In Anonymity

Leave Me In Anonymity

A Poem by icelandicblue

Pour me into the river so I might partake in its fury
as it rises above its banks and taunts the anxious
as they await with their paltry bags of sand

Slide me into the volcano as my core melts even
the hardiest of stone so that I might flow upon
the blue planet in a chariot of orange flames

Auger me down into the center of the earth
so I might finally warm my weary limbs
in natures womb.

Peel me from the sky and let me float
into curved valleys and lie
in the coolness of their insteps.

Dip me into the North Sea so that I can
skip along the dangers of its whitecaps as
I attempt to numb myself in its unforgiving depths.

Bury me in the rich sod and leave
me there in anonymity for it was in
life that I was wont to leave my mark.

Your title already spoke so much to me, it has a certain strength, then your words, here, fly dear woman... they fly. Your love for writing and things in life shines so brightly here. " Slide me into the volcano as my core melts even the hardiest of stone so that might flow upon the blue planet in a chariot of orange flames" really gave me an impression of how important "love" in general is... Then so Jules Vernes, in your third stanza, amazingly worded... :) To be as anonymous, and as one with nature, takes a strong soul.... thank you for this outstanding piece of work dear friend.

Chalk full of power words, nature has its way of staining your jeans and getting under my nails, the tempest roars till the oceans froth hides the moving lips, strapped in the sail must come down , now, fingers claw, the knife, marlin spike extended digs into whipping canvas wind shreds and we breathe. Prayer can't slow thoughts in action drown me in moment.

Thank you so much for your beautiful review.
How exquisitely you have projected this image...to be one with the earth annonymously, like everything else we see, at peace. Just a small piece of all that there is, making up the big picture. Blue you write magic, pure magic and I always sit back and try and figure out exactly how does she do it? Very nice indeed.

Your imagery throughout is powerful. I love the fury of the river, the melting of your core, and the chariot of orange flames....the inertia in this piece is compelling and provides a polished juxtaposition of action vs inaction. I'd love to see this take on a life of its own and continue a bit - but that may be my own greed shining through. It's a wonderful piece as it stands.

I don't know if you've ever been to Iceland but I was stationed there during the
war in the 1970's and the imagery you chose spoke so clear to what
that countryside was like. Your metaphors of volcanoes ,and blue planets, and
curved valleys, and unforgiving depths, and north seas took me there again
in ringing detail. A facinating write.

ps: I was the 31st Black person to ever set foot on Icelandic shores. We kept
record of silly stuff as that back then..

Wonderfully written. The metaphors in this piece are so descriptive. Good job.
