Changing the Universe

Changing the Universe

A Poem by icaros13
"

_

"
Shapeless, without form or purpose
A cloud of dust, at the mercy of chance

With your touch, there was a quickening
Gravity's embrace was mine again

Out of fire and fusion, beauty was born
Mother Earth in elation sang

Her song was struck silent
Swept away on solar winds

To the far reaches of the universe
Where love now resides

Invoking the spirit of Halley,
I await its grand return

Dear Icaros13,

A grand analogy. Man, made of dust of "fire and fusion" origin, organized and brought together again through gravity, this time the dust of one human being brought together by the touch of a another, ready to ignite again, another star, burning intensely! And then a second theme, love carried outward from this new sun by solar wind, swept out into the farthest reaches of the universe, awaiting cometary return. Wonderful.

Greatly enjoyed!

Best regards,

Rick

I can't really say what inspires me so about this write, maybe it's my love of the universe and it's explosive ever changing ever moving radiating magnificence that makes me relate, it's magnificent, truly. I love this write.

this made me grin because it's right up my alley. I often write about the beginnings of worlds and sometimes the endings of them. I like how you could sum it up with very few words--something I'm still trying to master.

Thank you for efforts.

sounds almost apocalyptic, I think it's more about someone who has lost and someone waiting to later rejoin, i'm new at this but I think it is a good write, I liked it anyway.

With this poem you are changing the universe, mine and anyone who reads it. Love is in the far reaches - and now and then, in the nearest touch. I enjoyed this very much.

This is amazing, a different read!! I love astronomy and love these lines very much:

"Shapeless, without form or purpose
A cloud of dust, at the mercy of chance"
"Invoking the spirit of Halley,
I await its grand return"

Not seen Halley yet, years to come in the future. I remember Hale-Bopp though!:P

Anyways, an excellent read!

About
For we have thought the larger thoughts And gone the shorter way. And we have danced to devil's tunes, Shivering home to pray; To serve one master in the night, Another in the day. ..I do love.. more..
