Roof on the Raintop

Roof on the Raintop

A Poem by icaros13

The rain came
and brought
with it
dreams

I searched for her
with Owl's
borrowed eyes
and silent flight

I rode on
Buzzard's wing;
drifting with currents,
looking for corpses

I talked with
the Ancients
and drank deep
of their wisdom

I walked
with Bear
and hunted
with Panther

I finally found her
back where I began
as sometimes it happens
in dreams

Now I am watching
the sound of the roof
fall on the raintops
free of all regret

3:28 has been my culprit lately...every morning for over a week...@7:15 when the wake up call comes ..I feel like I have been traveling for centuries, but am always back where I began.I am loving your work above. It feels nature when I read it. My tongue doesn't slip..mind turn inward. The above excerpt I have read twenty times ....fascinating!

I was just wondering not an hour ago when you were going to write / post something again :) I stopped being surprised by those manifestations, I love the animal guide feel of this, the native howl and hunt, how it harmonizes with the
earth song in you. excellent read.

About
For we have thought the larger thoughts And gone the shorter way. And we have danced to devil's tunes, Shivering home to pray; To serve one master in the night, Another in the day. ..I do love.. more..
